Augustin Rösler

Augustin Rösler CSsR (born March 6, 1851 in Guhrau , † April 2, 1922 in Breslau ) was a German Roman Catholic theologian and religious priest of the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer .

Life

Augustin Rösler was the son of a glazier. He studied at the University of Breslau theology and was 1876 in Freiburg to Dr. theol. PhD. After being ordained a priest in 1877, he entered the Redemptorist Order in the Austrian province. In 1879, Andreas Hamerle appointed him to the Redemptorist Institute for Philosophical Theology in Mautern in Styria , where he taught until 1918 as a professor of patristicism and church history . After the First World War he went to Breslau and founded the Redemptorist monastery in Breslau-Grüneiche.
