Augustine weather
Augustin Wetter (* 1765 ; † 1838 in Mainz ) was a German architect and from 1823 until his death the city architect of Mainz. He was mainly active in Rheinhessen and a typical representative of the architecture of (late) classicism .
The Protestant parish church in Badenheim (1829), the Catholic parish church St. Alban in Bodenheim (1830) and the bell tower of the Simultankirche in Gau-Odernheim (1833) come from Wetter . In addition, various residential buildings in Mainz originate from him, for example on Gutenbergplatz and on the market (house "Zum Kaiserberg").
Some of Augustin Wetter's descendants also worked as architects - such as his son Peter Wetter (district builder in Alzey ) and his grandson Karl Ernst Wetter (1823–1886, district builder in Nidda ).
