Aunkofen is a part of the municipality of Marklkofen in the Lower Bavarian district of Dingolfing-Landau .

Aunkofen is located in the Vilstal about two kilometers east of Marklkofen on the state road 2083 south of the Vilstalsee .

history

The place Aunkouen is already entered on the map of Sebastian Münster from around 1550. Aunkofen, which was subordinate to the Reisbach District Court , can also be seen on later maps such as the map by Johann Baptist Homann from around 1710 .

From the beginning of the 19th century it belonged to the tax district and the municipality of Reith, which in 1838 moved from the Landau regional court to the newly established Dingolfing regional court . After the dissolution of the municipality of Reith, Aunkofen was incorporated into the municipality of Marklkofen on April 1, 1971 as part of the regional reform in Bavaria . In 1987 Aunkofen had 62 inhabitants.

Attractions

  • Pilgrimage Church of St. Leonhard. The nave and the substructure of the tower probably date from the 14th century. The choir was enlarged in the 15th century, and some baroque changes made in the 18th century were partially reversed during the restoration in 1891.
