Abfackle is a four-track CD by the Bernese hip-hop group PVP . It was released in February 2005 as an extended play and reached number 88 in the charts.

background

After the first PVP album Eifach nüt appeared in the summer of 2004 and reached number 26 in the Swiss album charts, the four rappers Phantwo, Poul Prügu, Greis and Krust prepared for a joint album with Baze and Wurzel 5 . This appeared in the summer of 2005 under the name Ke Summer . In parallel to this project, Aus Abfackle was developed. After a period of three years between Eifach nüt and the last EP From Hell to Heaven and Back , this is the shortest break in the group's discography.

The four rappers recorded the pieces on the EP together with Beni Stoll in Bern. He was also responsible for the mixing. The mastering was carried out by Dan Suter in the Echochamber in Zurich. From Abfackle is relocated at Musikvertrieb.

+ Instrumentals

The CD begins with the piece Blind . This uses stylistic elements of oriental music, which is particularly emphasized by the vocal parts of Samir Esshabi. The rapper Baze is also represented. The text is shaped by politics. This is followed by the title song Aus Abfackle , before Ronin, a philosophical and at the same time self-ironic piece of music, is presented. Four tops can be counted as battle rap . In addition, the instrumental versions of all four songs are included.

The songs Blind , Ronin and Four Tops were produced by DJ Link, who is a member of the band Wurzel 5. Greis also worked as a producer for Four Tops . The instrumental for Aus Abfackle comes from the hip-hop musician Def Cut and DJ Ace is involved through scratches . Blind is also accompanied by Janos Heidekker on the violin .

A small booklet is enclosed with the CD, which is printed with the lyrics. Two press photos can also be seen.

success

The EP entered the Swiss charts at number 88 on March 13, 2005 and stayed there for a week.
