Chlyklass
Chlyklass (Swiss dialect for “small class”) is an amalgamation of Bernese hip-hop bands.
history
The first collaboration took place in 1998 through the two bands PVP and Wurzel 5 on the sampler Rapresent . In the autumn of the same year a concert followed in the Bern waterworks, later one in Liestal , where a first song together was presented with Baze under the name The Golden Fifteen . The collective then gave itself the name Chlyklass. In addition to other appearances, for example at the Gurten Festival 1999 in Basel, St. Gallen and Schaffhausen, a separate music label called Chlyklass Records was founded.
On November 29, 2019, the album "Deitinge Nord" was released. The album title deals with the Deitingen Nord motorway service station located on the A1, Zurich - Bern lane between the Wangen junction (42) and the Unterbach junction (41). In a figurative sense, “Deitinge Nord” can be understood as a gathering and meeting point for band members for away gigs, but at the same time also as a starting and finishing point for Chlyklass's musical influences and developments.
The Ultimate MC Battle takes place annually in the Bierhübeli in Bern under the patronage of Chlyklass Records .
