Allele is a four-piece alternative metal band from Jacksonville , Florida .

history

The band was formed in 2002 by Wally Wood and ex- Otep guitarist Lane Maverick. The name is a reference to alleles , a term from biology that denotes different variants of a gene.

Record deal and album "Point of Origin" (2005)

The band signed to Corporate Punishment Records and eventually began work on their debut, Point of Origin, which was released on October 25, 2005.

Exit Mavericks and album "Next To Parallel" (2011)

In 2011 the band switched to the Chicago label Goomba Music and later released their second album Next to Parallel that same year . Guitarist Lane Maverick had previously left the band and was replaced by Cold member Kelly Hayes, who had previously performed occasionally with Allele.

In August 2012, Allele signed a recording deal with MTV label Hype Music after they had previously started working on new material. Lane Maverick was again a member of the band at this point, again instead of Kelly Hayes.
