Dean Beuker (born January 5, 1981 in Watson , Saskatchewan ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who last played for the Schwenninger Wild Wings from the 2nd Bundesliga .

Career

Beuker began his career in 1997 in the Canadian Junior Western Hockey League with the Tri-City Americans . There he initially completed only one game and joined the league rivals Portland Winter Hawks for the 1998/99 season . With the Winter Hawks, the right-shooter developed into one of the best scorers on his team. In 228 missions he was able to score 133 times. In the 2000/01 season he reached the final for the championship of the WHL with Portland , which, however, was lost.

After a brief interlude with the Regina Pats at the end of the 2001/02 season, he decided in the summer of 2002 to study at the University of Saskatchewan . There he was active for the ice hockey team with which the offensive player played for the University Cup in the Canadian college league Canadian Interuniversity Sport . Beuker finished his studies in 2006 after a fixed study period of four years and pushed for a move to Europe.

There, those in charge of Moskitos Essen noticed the then 25-year-old and transferred him to the 2nd Bundesliga. Beuker reached the play-off quarter-finals straight away with the mosquitos, where his club lost 4-0 against the later champions and promoted players, the Grizzly Adams Wolfsburg . On February 9, 2007, the striker also took part in the annual ESBG Allstar Game in Ravensburg . There he went on the ice for Team United and scored a goal. After Moskitos Essen had to file for bankruptcy in the summer of 2008 and were consequently no longer allowed to compete in the 2nd Bundesliga, Beuker left the club and signed a contract with Schwenninger Wild Wings for the 2008/09 season. He left the SERC at the end of the season.
