Equipment (textile)

Equipment refers to measures for textile finishing of textile fabrics , yarns and fibers . The equipment often joins the actual creation process. It should optimize the material properties and the utility value of the textile in terms of the desired purpose, such as feel or appearance. Companies that carry out these measures are called textile outfitters .

Forms of equipment

The equipment can be classified into three main categories. Mixed forms and combinations of equipment are common and the assignment of the individual processes is not always clear. The focus of the thermal equipment is the use of heat or an open flame in the finishing process. Important thermal finishing processes are: gassing , fixing , pleating . Thermal finishing processes are often also counted as mechanical equipment in the specialist literature.

Organizational completion of the equipment

The production range equipment, textile finishing includes the fabric inspection , quality control and final presentation of the most web-like textiles. The administrative recording of production data is part of this production step and forms the link to the commercial department, marketing, sales, invoicing and accounting.
