EX pollution

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

EXP means EXP ollution (Engl. Without pollution). It is the name for an ecological, machine-washable finish for the wool fiber. Without finishing, textiles made of wool felt especially when washed in the washing machine. Thanks to the EXP finish, the wool fiber is subjected to a chlorine-free pre-treatment and can be machine washed. EXP complies with the TM31 washing standard with 5x5A. The new EXP 4.0 process is suitable for the dryer (TEC) and has won several innovation and sustainability awards. The previously market-dominating processes, such as B. the Hercosett process work on a chlorine basis. This means that goods made from EXP-treated fibers or yarns are ecological, environmentally friendly and machine washable. The otherwise usual entry of AOX into the environment and onto the textile in the chlorine process is avoided by the EXP process. In addition, the EXP process is significantly more energy-efficient and, overall, more environmentally friendly than the technically more complex alternative processes. EXP is the only wool finishing process that is certified according to the Bluesign Standard , Global Organic Textile Standard , European Ecolabel and Oeko-Tex Standard 100 . In 2013, the EXP process was awarded the "Golden Outdoor Award" by the Outdoor Fair (Friedrichshafen) for its convincing sustainability.
