The AFM + E (formerly AFM), full name foreign trade association for oil and energy, is a representation of independent energy traders and importers in the fields of petroleum , electricity and gas in Germany.

Together with other partner associations of the medium-sized mineral oil and energy trade, AFM + E is represented in the umbrella organization MEW Mittelständische Energiewirtschaft Deutschland eV, Berlin. AFM + E is also a member of the following organizations: UPEI , Forum for Future Energies, Institute for Heat and Oil Technology eV and DGMK German Scientific Society for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Coal eV

history

The foundation goes back to 1960 and took place under the name AFM (Foreign Trade Association for Mineral Oil) in Hamburg.

In the year 2000 the range of tasks of the association was extended beyond mineral oil to gas and electricity due to the liberalization of the energy market in Germany. This is how today's naming came about.
