history

NatGAS AG was founded in 2000 by independent mineral oil traders. In this way, they wanted to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the slowly opening energy market in order to win back customers who had switched from heating oil to natural gas. NatGAS should be responsible for procuring and transporting natural gas. Over time, in addition to the activities for the founding shareholders, ever larger industrial companies and increasingly also municipal utilities could be won as customers. Further impetus came from the energy turnaround , which increased price pressure on energy procurement.

Shareholder

Today, around 100 shareholders are behind natGAS , of which Select Energy Trading GmbH , Friedrich Scharr KG and Petrogem SA are the largest. The board members are David Schweizer and Jan-Hendrik Semkat, after the longtime sole director Jörg Bauth was dismissed on June 18, 2019.
