Arrest and verdict

Austin Jones drew international media attention in 2017 when he was arrested on June 12 at Chicago O'Hare International Airport , a US airport, on suspicion of producing child pornography on two counts.

Jones had asked at least six female fans, ages 14-15, to create twerking videos and nude photos and videos of themselves to prove that they were his biggest fans. Furthermore, he had promised them that in return he would help them achieve a successful career on the Instagram platform .

On bail of $ 100,000, Jones was released home shortly after his arrest. However, he was banned from using the Internet . He was also ordered to stay with his mother.

On February 1, 2019, Jones admitted receiving pornographic video from a minor in relation to a case. He commented on this in a video on his channel - shortly before it was deleted.

On May 3, 2019, Jones was sentenced to ten years in prison. He took up this position on June 29, 2019 in the Loretto Federal Prison .
