The Australian Pink Floyd Show is a cover band that plays songs by the rock group Pink Floyd from the early days with Syd Barrett to their last albums. It was founded in Adelaide , Australia in 1988 . Your identification mark is a pink kangaroo , which is derived from the original Pink Floyd pig.
tape
The band has set itself the goal of reproducing the music of Pink Floyd true to the original. This also includes the requirement to offer a live show that is as accurate as possible. This includes newly shot films that are marked with their identification mark, the kangaroo, and are again detailed copies of the original films. Further borrowings from Australian culture are also brought in. The spoken recordings for the performance of The Dark Side of the Moon were given a clear Australian accent by the speakers .
In 1993 the band performed at the international Pink Floyd fan meeting at the Wembley Conference Center . In 1996 they were invited by David Gilmour for his 50th birthday and performed as a live band at his celebration. There was a jam session with Pink Floyd members David Gilmour, Richard Wright and Pink Floyd Tour musicians Tim Renwick , Guy Pratt , Gary Wallis and Claudia Fontaine.
In 2001 the band gave a concert for the first time in London's Royal Albert Hall . For the piece Another Brick in the Wall (Part 2) the choir of the "Islington Green School" performed with them; Students from this school sang the choir to the piece on the Pink Floyd album The Wall from 1979. In 2007 and 2008 the band performed at the Royal Albert Hall.
