Australis
The Australis is a biogeographical region with the core area Australia . The Australis has narrower boundaries in the flora kingdom than in the fauna kingdom .
The Australis floral kingdom includes mainland Australia and Tasmania . The fauna kingdom also includes New Guinea , New Zealand and Polynesia .
Florentine
Characteristic floral elements of the Australis can be found in the families of the casuarine plants (Casuarinaceae), the stylus cup plants ( Goodeniaceae ), the grass tree plants (Xanthorrhoeaceae), the Myoporaceae and the Stylidiaceae as well as the Australheidegeae , which were long run as a separate family of the Styphelioideae more recent studies belong to the heather family (Ericaceae), and the genus Brunonia , which was formerly part of the monotypical family of the Brunoniaceae and is now classified in the style cup family. Characteristic genera are the acacia ( Acacia ), the Banksia ( Banksia ) and the eucalyptus ( Eucalyptus ).
Faunal
