The Volkswagen Group Services GmbH (until 2017: Auto Vision GmbH ) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Volkswagen AG . The company offers its customers process, personnel and commercial services.

history

Development phase

Due to an unemployment rate in the city of Wolfsburg of over 17 percent, the city and Volkswagen AG developed the AutoVision concept in 1997 on the occasion of the city's 60th anniversary, with the short-term goal of halving unemployment and creating 10,000 new jobs.

Together with Wolfsburg AG, unemployment was reduced to 9 percent within four years. The initiator of the project was the then Volkswagen board member Peter Hartz , who was also chairman of the board of the newly founded AutoVision GmbH in the first few years. In addition to AutoVision GmbH, Wolfsburg AG and MobileLifeCampus with AutoUni emerged from the AutoVision concept .

The success of the project meant, among other things, that the then Federal Chancellor Gerhard Schröder asked Hartz to draw up a concept for the labor market, from which the Hartz concepts arose.
