Learntec ( spelling LEARN TEC) is an international congress fair for professional education, learning and IT that takes place annually in Karlsruhe . While in the past the event was rather technology -heavy and subordinated itself to the concept of e-learning , computers have firmly established themselves as a learning medium in the entire education sector. The focus of Learntec has therefore expanded significantly. The organizer of Learntec is the Karlsruher Messe- und Kongress GmbH . In 2010, the scientific management passed from the long-time directors and initiators, Winfried Sommer and Uwe Beck, to Sünne Eichler and Peter Henning . The result was a strategic realignment in which purely technological topics take a back seat in favor of a broader educational orientation.

Similar congress fairs , albeit with a significantly different focus and target group, are the online Educa , the didacta and the distance training congress .

history

The forerunner of Learntec was founded by Uwe Beck and Winfried Sommer, both working at the PH Karlsruhe , under the title “The application of modern media and educational technology in professional and educational practice” .
