The didacta is the largest trade fair for education sector in Europe . The trade and book fair takes place annually at different locations in Germany, currently alternating between Stuttgart , Cologne and Hanover .

Between 1999 and 2016, the number of visitors to Cologne was between 90,000 and 110,000. The exhibition locations in Hanover have around 65,000 to 75,000 and Stuttgart between 75,000 and 100,000 visitors. In addition to exhibitors and publishers with their new releases from the fields of early education , school / college , vocational education / qualification and education and technology , the public can also attend a supporting program with several hundred events (1,500 in 2008).

The organizer is the respective trade fair company at the venue. The conceptual sponsor is the Didacta Verband e. V.

Didacta is a member of the European Movement Network .

Exhibition locations

The current education fair didacta emerged in 1999 from the European teaching material fair “didacta” of the German teaching material association “Didacta” and the international school exhibition “Interschul” of the school book publishers, in 1999 still with a combination name, from 2000 under the name didacta .
