Rhein-Erft group of authors

The Authors ' Circle Rhein-Erft (ARE) is a regional association of writers who are mostly based in the Rhein-Erft district .

history

ARE was founded in 1985 by the Hürth author Herbert Sinz (1913–1989) and at times led by the Kerpen author Petra Hammesfahr , then by the Bergheim poet and editor Axel Kutsch .

From 1989 to 1992, the circle of authors published the literary magazine carbon paper every six months . In 1990 he published the regional writer lexicon authors in the Erftkreis (today Rhein-Erft-Kreis ), in 1994 and 2003 the ARE anthologies Wortfelder (ed. Axel Kutsch) and Transitions 20 (editors Axel Kutsch and Gynter Mödder) appeared. The anthology Zeitbanditen followed in 2007 (editor Joachim Christian Huth).

Readings by members of the association or guest authors ( Dieter Wellershoff , Lutz Rathenow , Klaus Bednarz , Karl Otto Conrady , Helmut Kindler , Günter Wallraff and others) are always well attended. In addition, the ARE has set itself the task of promoting young literary talents.

Current

Today the circle of authors has around two dozen members. The current chairman is the writer and nuclear medicine specialist Gynter Mödder from Bergheim- Glessen , in whose domicile (the “Mauseum”) the ARE meets regularly for writing workshops and to organize readings .

ARE participated in the Regionale 2010 with readings and a third anthology, Wolkenland (editors Evert Everts and Karl Rovers) .
