The Ave Maria University is a Catholic private university in Ave Maria in Naples , Florida .

The private university was founded by the American entrepreneur Tom Monaghan ( Domino's Pizza ). The campus, which we moved into in 2007, is located in the newly founded city of Ave Maria, the first Catholic city to be founded in the United States. Ave Maria University is the first Catholic university to be established in the United States since 1966. The university has a strict Roman Catholic code of honor. The university is planned for around 6,000 students (2020). The university's first chancellor was Joseph Fessio SJ .

The Ave Maria University - Latin American Campus (AMULAC) branch has been in existence in San Marcos, Carazo, Nicaragua since 2007.

The Ave Maria University offers ten degrees in undergraduate studies and three degrees in the graduate program (“graduate”) as well as doctoral studies in theology (“ PhD ”). Around 600 students are enrolled in ten faculties.
