Axel Foley
Detective Axel Foley is the fictional protagonist of the three-part movie series Beverly Hills Cop from the 1980s. She is portrayed by Eddie Murphy .
Origin of the name
Don Simpson and Jerry Bruckheimer had assigned the role of the policeman in the action comedy to Sylvester Stallone in advance . However, this canceled at short notice in favor of Die City-Cobra . Eddie Murphy , star of Saturday Night Live , took over and wanted to be called Foley because of his skillful way of improvising sounds with his mouth. Foley Artists ( Foley Artists ) are those crew members who are responsible for the sound effects in a movie. The first name "Axel" is used to parody a sketch in a Saturday Night Live episode from the movie Mad Max with Mel Gibson .
