Axel Louissaint (born January 3, 1996 in Pompaples ) is a Swiss basketball player .

career

In 2011 Louissaint moved from the youth academy of Friborg Olympic to the youth department of the French club Élan Sportif Chalonnais . The winger did not make it into the professional squad there, he returned to Switzerland in 2015 and played for the Lugano Tigers in the National League A from then on until 2017 .

During the summer break of 2017, he moved to Vevey Riviera Basket within the National League A , where he became a teammate of his brothers Steeve and Gardner. In 21 games of the regular season he scored an average of 10.4 points and 3.1 rebounds during the 2017/18 season, and in July 2018 he was signed by the Spanish second division club Leyma Coruña. After the end of the season in Spain, he strengthened his former club Friborg Olympic in the fight for the championship title in 2019.

In summer 2020 he returned to the Lugano Tigers.

National team

At the B-EM in the U20 age group in 2015, Louissaint was the best thrower of the Swiss team with an average of 13.1 points per encounter.
