Aydo Abay (born May 29, 1973 ) is a German singer and songwriter from the independent sector .

The musician, who is of Turkish descent, grew up in Waldbröl . He became known as a founding member and front man of Blackmail . At the end of 2008, the band announced the separation from Abay. He later drew attention to himself with his own band Ken . Abay also appeared as a guest on one of the songs on The Black Sheep's debut album .

After he released the album YES WE with Ken in 2010 , he worked on the mini-series Alpha 0.7 - The Enemy In You, produced for Südwestrundfunk . In this he appears as the singer of a fictional band called crash: conspiracy. With this band he released the album <> in November 2010 . The theme of both the album and the series is the surveillance state .

With the guitarist Jonas Pfetzing from the band Juli , he founded the music project Abay, which released its first EP Blank Sheets in October 2014 and then went on tour in Germany as the opening act for Madsen . In August 2016, the debut album Everything's Amazing and Nobody Is Happy was released . In October 2018 the band performed a song from their follow-up album Love and Distortion in the Lindenstraße series .
