Bliss, Please received high acclaim from many critics . Stephan Hageböck wrote in his review on laut.de that the album was bliss in person. “Spacy guitars, jazzy fans, a Moog whispering in top form create razor-sharp songs that no one can escape. [...] Here the listener immerses himself in the real, real pop music, in an almost brutal, disturbing harshness. “ Both the editorial staff and the readers of laut.de rated the album with 5 out of 5 stars.

Oliver Ding wrote for Plattentests.de that with Bliss, Please it becomes obvious what science fiction has already hinted at. The band applies pressure, "... which presses all the air out of the lungs. Instead of relying on pure noise, however, the gentlemen around Aydo Abay and Kurt Ebelhäuser conjure up melodies that inject needles directly under the skin. " Ding praised the variety and versatility of the album: " Crazy ideas flash again and again in all the songs open with hand and foot to immediately take a long walk in the hearing center. ” The editors awarded 9, the readers 8 out of 10 points. In addition, the album was represented at number 3 in the 2001 annual album charts of the Plattentests.de editorial team.

Andreas Kohl from the music magazine Visions stated: “Blackmail has long been its own category. The foot somewhere in the noise rock, nothing to stop the head in the pop scene and now by absolutely any more. " In his opinion, have Blackmail ... in songwriting made" a great leap forward ... " and " ... take the step towards true pop. " Reviewed became the album with 10.5 out of 12 points.

In the magazine Intro , the music on Bliss, Please was described as follows: “Guitar cascades, against which those from Placebo seem almost minimalist, fit in with all bulkiness, supported by the warm, always dreamy-yearning with androgynous I-know- What-I-want-forschness connecting Aydo Abay's singing and fine arrangements - you can hear trumpets, subtle electronics, a vibraphone - in blissful harmonies that never act as a corset. "

In the 2004 list of the 500 best albums of all time in the German edition of Rolling Stone , Bliss, Please reached number 421.

In the 2001 annual best lists of Visions magazine , Bliss, Please reached positions 17 (critics) and 11 (readers).
