The Aysgarth Falls are a three tier system of waterfalls in the River Ure in Wensleydale in Yorkshire , England . The falls extend over a distance of approx. 800 m, on which the river overcomes a height difference of 30 m.
The Aysgarth Falls are a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and are located in the Yorkshire Dales National Park .
Located near the village of Aysgarth, the falls have been an attraction for visitors for over 200 years, including John Ruskin , the painter JMW Turner , who also painted them, and William Wordsworth . The cases were also seen in the movie Robin Hood: The Thief King .
