Ayumi Ogasawara ( Japanese 小 笠原 歩 , Ogasawara Ayumi ; born November 25, 1978 in Tokoro , Tokoro-gun (today: Kitami ), Hokkaidō as Ayumi Onodera ( 小 野寺 歩 , Onodera Ayumi )) is a Japanese curler .
Onodera participated in the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. The team took eighth place. From 2003 to 2006 it belonged to the newly founded Team Aomori of Aomori CC on.
Onodera was also part of the Japanese curling Olympic team at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin. She played in the position of skip alongside her teammates Third Yumie Hayashi , Second Mari Motohashi , Lead Moe Meguro and Alternate Sakurako Terada . The team took seventh place. Hayashi and Motohashi are also from Tokoro.
On May 17, 2006, she announced that she was retiring from active sports to devote herself to marriage and starting a family first. Now called Ayumi Ogasawara, she returned to active sport in 2007 as a partner of Makoto Tsuruga in the mixed doubles discipline. At the 1st national championship in mixed doubles, both made it to the final round, but were defeated by Michiko Taira and Kenji Tomabechi , who thus became Japan's selection for the 2008 World Mixed Doubles Curling Championship .
