Azare is a Nigerian city in the state of Bauchi .

In 1991 the place had 69,035 inhabitants, for 2012 a population of 59,875 was calculated. These are Hausa , Fulani and Kanuri and thus predominantly Muslims .
economy
The main industry in Azares is agriculture. Mainly cotton and peanuts are grown. There are several schools and a hospital.
Events
On December 4, 2011, two bombs were detonated outside police stations in Azare and two bank branches were attacked. A police officer, a soldier and four civilians died in the five-hour battle. Local police suspected the attack was carried out by members of the Boko Haram .
