η Eridani ( Eta Eridani , short η Eri ) is a star of the spectral class K1 III-IV in the constellation Eridanus and has an apparent magnitude of 3.9 mag. It is just under 140 light years from the sun .
A historical proper name is Azha ("the breeding ground"). On September 12, 2016, the IAU defined this historical proper name as the standardized proper name for this star.
