Christoph Azone

Christoph Azone (* 8. May 1967 in Karlsruhe as Christoph Gieser ) is a German radio - and stage presenter , journalist and author .

Life

Azone was one of the founders of 98.8 Kiss FM in 1993 , where he designed and hosted the morning show under the pseudonym “Mallorca Joe” together with Stefan Rupp (“Funkmaster Confetti”) and Alexander Purrucker (“MC Pu”). In 1995 he founded the fun rap band Nepper Schlepper Bad Rapper together with Rupp, Mitri Sirin and Ingo Wohlfeil . Other professional positions as a moderator included a. 104.6 RTL and Energy Berlin .

From 2000 to 2019 he hosted the early morning magazine Der Schöne Morgen together with Rupp on Radio Eins , which was awarded the first German Radio Prize in 2010 as the best morning program. On March 1, 2020, he hosted Der Schöne Morgen for the last time and said goodbye to Radio Eins. Since 2018 he has been writing and speaking regularly for the "Brief der Woche" column for SWR1 .

Azone grew up in Gernsbach in the northern Black Forest and has lived in Berlin since 1991 . In 2001 he took his wife's family name, which he kept after the divorce .
