Azuero is a peninsula of Panama and extends into the Pacific Ocean .
In the east, the peninsula borders the Gulf of Panama . Azuero administratively forms three Panamanian provinces. The west coast belongs to Veraguas , the southeast is the province of Los Santos and the northeast is the province of Herrera .
Azuero is known for traditional festivals and customs. Economically, the region is characterized by tourism on the coasts as well as agriculture (mainly maize) and cattle breeding in the interior.
