The Bänderschmerle ( Nemacheilus fasciatus ) comes from the Indonesian islands , Sumatra , Borneo and Java and is quite popular freshwater fish in the Aquarium . It becomes approx. 9 cm long and shows an interesting color. The whole body is covered with alternating yellow and brown stripes. The adult fish get a red color on the caudal fin and smaller barbels on the mouth.
Aquaristics
