Bärbel Hähnle

Bärbel Hähnle (born November 22, 1949 in Hornberg , Ortenaukreis ) is a former German athlete from the Federal Republic of Germany who became vice European champion in the 4 x 100 meter relay in 1969 .

Hähnle finished third at the German Youth Championships in 1967. In 1969 she won the German indoor championships over 50 meters. She was also successful at the German Open Air Championships and won the championship title over 100 meters in 11.5 seconds. At the European Championships in 1969 , the German athletes only competed in the relay competitions because of Jürgen May's starting ban . The West German 4 x 100 meter relay with Bärbel Hähnle, Jutta Stöck , Rita Jahn and Ingrid Becker took second place behind the relay from the GDR in 44.0 seconds . In 1971, Bärbel Hähnle took fifth place at the German Indoor Championships, in 1972 she set her personal best over 100 meters with 11.4 s, but as fifth at the German Championships she just missed the Olympic participation.

Bärbel Hähnle belonged to the sports club VfR Achern , from 1971 she started for the USC Heidelberg . She is 1.59 m tall.
