Bärbel Schubel

Bärbel Schubel (born January 10, 1942 in Duisburg ) is a German librarian .

Life

Bärbel Schubel studied biology and chemistry at the University of Freiburg . After completing her diploma, she completed her training for higher library services at the Freiburg University Library from 1968 and was then responsible for biology and chemistry as well as for building up the departmental libraries. At the Freiburg University Library she became deputy director in 1991 and, as the successor to Wolfgang Kehr , she was executive director from 1994 until her retirement at the end of June 2008. During her term of office, the planning for the new building of the university library fell.
