Albert Raffelt

Albert Raffelt (born September 22, 1944 in Groß Tinz an der Lohe , District of Breslau , Province of Lower Silesia ) is a German Catholic theologian and librarian .

Life

Albert Raffelt studied Catholic theology from 1964 to 1971 at the Universities of Münster , Munich and Mainz . Following this, he worked from 1971 to 1977 as a research assistant at the chair of dogmatic theology and ecumenical theology of the Theological Faculty of the University of Freiburg and was operated at 1978 Karl Lehmann with a thesis on Maurice Blondel PhD . Since 1979 he has worked at the Freiburg University Library as a subject librarian for philosophy (1979–2000), theology (1983–2000) and musicology (2000–2009). From 1999 until his retirement in 2009 he was the deputy director of the Freiburg University Library. In 1981 he received a teaching assignment for dogmatic theology at the theological faculty of the University of Freiburg and since 2000 he has been honorary professor for dogmatic theology there. From 1981 to 2018 he was one of the organists at the Freiburg University Church.

He was also active on the scientific advisory board of the German Diary Archive in Emmendingen and has been a member of the board of trustees of the Karl Rahner Foundation in Munich since 2009 as successor to Johann Baptist Metz and one of the editors of Karl Rahner's complete works (32 vols. In 40 parts ., Freiburg i.Br.: Herder, 1995-2018). In 2018 he received - as the second after Karl Cardinal Lehmann in 2004 - the Karl Rahner plaque from the Karl Rahner Foundation in Munich.
