Hansjürgen Verweyen
Hansjürgen Verweyen (born February 15, 1936 in Bonn ) is a German fundamental theologian and philosopher .
Life
Hansjürgen Verweyen studied Catholic theology , philosophy and German . In 1969 he received his doctorate with a dissertation supervised by Joseph Ratzinger on "Ontological requirements of the act of faith". In 1974 he completed his habilitation in philosophy with Nikolaus Lobkowicz in Munich with the thesis: “Law and morality in JG Fichte's social theory”. From 1967 to 1975 he taught systematic historical theology as an assistant professor at the University of Notre Dame , Indiana in the USA. From 1975 to 1984 he was a full professor of theology and its didactics at the comprehensive university in Essen . From 1984 to 2004 he held the chair for fundamental theology in Freiburg im Breisgau .
