Bärengässlin

Bärengässlin ( original spelling : BärenGässlin , from 1982 also: Bären Gässlin ) was an ensemble for early music in historical performance practice , which existed from 1975 to 1985.

The focus of the repertoire was on the development of authentic interpretations of songs from the Middle Ages and the early modern period by authors such as Walther von der Vogelweide , the monk of Salzburg , Oswald von Wolkenstein , Martin Luther and Carmina Burana .

The founders and permanent members of the ensemble were Johannes Heimrath (* 1953) and Michael Korth (* 1946). The line-up was expanded to include additional singers and instrumentalists, depending on the program. The programs were developed in cooperation with well-known writers , literary scholars , music historians and specialists in early music, including HC Artmann , René Clemencic , Cesar Bresgen , Ulrich Müller, Lambertus Okken and Franz Viktor Spechtler.
