Béatrice Jeanine Atallah

Béatrice Jeanine Atallah (born August 17, 1959 ) is a Malagasy politician and lawyer . Atallah was Madagascar's Foreign Minister from January 2015 to August 2017 .

Career

Atallah received a master's degree in private law in 1988 and worked as a judge . From 2002 to 2009 she worked for the National Electoral Commission, in 2009 she moved to the Ministry of Finance as a technical advisor . From 2012 to 2015 Atallah headed CENI-T, an independent electoral commission. On January 25, 2015 Atallah became Foreign Minister in the cabinet of Prime Minister Olivier Mahafaly . In her role as Foreign Minister, she took part in talks at the 72nd UN General Assembly in New York to improve bilateral relations with the Foreign Ministers of the United Arab Emirates , Great Britain and Italy , as well as with representatives of Kurdistan . Atallah held the office of foreign minister until August 2017.
