The Buzi is a river in Zimbabwe .

course

The river has its source at Chipinge . It flows first 20 km south to Mozambique , then there to the northeast to Goonda and from there through a flat plain to the east to the city of Sofala , where it flows north of the place, near the mouth of the Pungwe , into the Mozambique Strait .

Flood

Like the Save or the Pungwe, the Buzi is heavily dependent on precipitation. During the rainy season, the water levels in these rivers can rise by seven meters and cause catastrophic flooding, especially in the plains of the Gaza Province in Mozambique.
