İbrahim Bülent Ortaçgil (born March 1, 1950 in Ankara , Turkey ) is a Turkish singer and composer .

Life

Bülent Ortaçgil was born on March 1, 1950 in Ankara. The family moved to Istanbul while he was in elementary school . He attended the Kadıköy Anadolu Lisesi as a secondary school , where he learned to play the guitar at that time. He later graduated with a degree in chemistry from Istanbul University .

In 1974 his first album was released. It was called “Benimle Oynar Mısın?” (“Are you going to play with me?”). Onno Tunç and Ergun Pekcan helped him with the recordings.

After his wedding, Ortaçgil took a ten-year hiatus from music. He worked as a chemical engineer at companies such as Pfizer and Netaş Telecom.

Ortaçgil often worked with Fikret Kızılok . His most famous songs include Bu Su Hiç Durmaz and Sensiz Olmaz .

Ortaçgil's music was influenced by The Beatles , Cat Stevens , Donovan and Bob Dylan .
