Civic award of the city of Minden

The Citizens' Prize of the City of Minden is an honor based on suggestions made by Minden citizens. The award is given by the Friends of Mehr Minden in the East Westphalian city ​​of Minden to citizens and achievements with special cultural commitment.

Previous winners

The prizes are awarded by a four-person jury, which appraises proposals from citizens of the city of Minden.

  • 2012: (12th Citizens' Prize): Community Dance Minden, a dance and music project by students from all secondary schools in Minden. The previous performances received a nationwide response.
  • 2011: (11th Citizens' Prize): Goethe Open-Air Theater Porta Westfalica . The stage sets decisive cultural aspects in the theater sector and, in addition to the stage in Porta Westfalica, also has several venues in Minden.
  • 2010: (10th citizens' award): Pit Witt , choir director.
  • 2009: (9th civic award): Burkhard Hedtmann, author, poet and interpreter.
  • 2008: (8th citizens' award): Eduard Schynol, founder of the Tucholsky stage, Minden and director at the same.
  • 2007: (7th civic award): Minden sticklebacks , amateur theater cabaret.
  • 2006: (6th Citizens' Prize): Jutta Hering-Winckler , chairwoman of the Richard Wagner Association Minden eV

  • 2003: (4th Citizens' Prize): Rainer Winkel, music teacher, artistic director of the chamber concert series in castles and mansions in the Minden – Lübbecke district.
  • 2002: (3rd citizen award): Hans-Joachim Rickert, Jazz Club Minden .
  • 2001: (2nd citizen prize): Lille Kunterbunt, children's art and culture workshop .
  • 2001: (1st Citizen Prize): Hartmut Birkelbach, Association Church and Culture Todtenhausen .

Prize sculpture

The award sculpture was created by the Minden artist Peter Paul Medzech and shows citizens wearing a stylized town hall of the city of Minden. The sculpture remains the property of the award winner.
