The type Büsum 85 is a smaller multi-purpose ship type from the Büsum shipyard in Büsum .

history

The ship type was designed in the 1980s following the construction of the very successful and somewhat larger Büsum type. The ships of the series are designed as universal coasters for medium voyages. The Büsum 85 was built in six units by the end of production at the shipyard in September 1986. The shipping companies Jonny Petersen from Jork, Klaus tom Wörden from Oldendorf and Hermann Schepers from Haren / Ems each ordered two ships of the series .

technical description

The Büsum 85 ships have a 58 by eleven meter hatch that is closed with hatch covers of the Navire - Lift and Roll type . Two 25-tonne cranes attached to the port side are available as their own loading gear.

The MaK 6M453B four-stroke diesel main engine with an output of 1470 to 1780 kilowatts at 600 rpm drives a variable-pitch propeller via a gearbox and, in sea operation, also drives a shaft generator with an output of 350 kVA. In addition to the shaft generator, two auxiliary diesel generators with 300 kVA each and an emergency generator with 110 kVA electrical power are installed for the electrical system. A bow thruster with an output of 184 kW is available to support the mooring and casting off maneuvers . The last ship built, the Karola S , received a higher deckhouse than its predecessor, which leads to an improvement in the line of sight and a higher container capacity on deck (normal: 170 TEU, Karola S .: 204 TEU).

The cranes of the Valda , the former Merlin , have since been dismantled.
