B-movie

The B-Movie is a municipal art house cinema at Brigittenstrasse 5 in the Hamburg district of St. Pauli . The cinema run by the B-Movie Kulturinitiative auf St. Pauli eV on a voluntary and non-profit basis is the second smallest art house cinema in Hamburg with around 58 seats.

The program focuses on genre films , older blockbusters , exploitation , trash , underground and experimental films by mostly unknown authors as well as controversially discussed productions and topics. The cinema is also the venue for various film festivals such as the Hamburg Short Film Festival , Music Film Festival, Hamburg Film Festival , the Lesbian Gay Film Days Hamburg or the Hamburg Japan Film Festival .

The cinema, founded in 1987, has a projection room with 58 seats and a 30 m² screen . The extensive technical equipment of the cinema with video projectors for VHS , S-VHS as well as digital media such as DVD , BluRay and DCP as well as analog film projectors in 35 mm, 16 mm and Super 8 format enables films to be shown in the original formats . The projection room is also equipped with a stage for theatrical performances.
