Correlophus is a tree-dwelling genus of gecko-like from the family of the double- fingered geckos (Diplodactylidae).

features

Correlophus differ from all other double- fingered geckos native to New Caledonia in the following characteristics: Head-torso length large, up to 135 mm. The head is large, the tail reaches 80 to 92% of the length of the head and torso. The scales on the back are grainy, homogeneous, or mostly homogeneous. Under all fingers and toes there are enlarged, undivided adhesive lamellae (subdigital lamellae), the skin between the fingers and toes is weak to moderately developed. The total of 40 to 60 precloacal pores of the males are arranged in 2 or 3 rows and extend to the basal 40% of the thighs. The back is brown, olive, yellowish, reddish or orange, with or without contrasting markings on the top of the head, the vertebral area or the flanks. The belly is beige to similar to the dorsal colors.

distribution

Correlophus species are native to New Caledonia and seem to be disjointed on the Île des Pins , on Grande Terre from the south to Canala and on the Belep Islands .
