BC Book Prizes

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The BC Book Prizes , founded in 1985 , are a compilation of now seven literary prizes that recognize the merits of those writers and editors who live in British Columbia or the Yukon Territory.

These seven prizes, as well as The Lieutenant Governor's Award for Literary Excellence , awarded since 2004 , are honored annually at the Lieutenant Governor's BC Book Prize Gala in April. The respective shortlist will be published in March.

The prizes are administered and awarded by a non-profit company that comes from all areas of the publishing and writing industry.

The award winners do not have to be Canadian citizens. You are believed to have lived in British Columbia for at least three of the last five years. Your work may have been published in any other region or country.

The BC Book Prizes include the following individual prizes, which honor the categories of poetry , novels , regional history , non-fiction , children's books and bookshops.
