The BKK24 is a statutory health insurance company with its headquarters in Obernkirchen, Lower Saxony. The establishment of the company health insurance fund dates back to 1883 as the so-called company health insurance fund of Hermann Heye Glasfabriken.

The originally in-house facility developed - significantly influenced by several mergers with corresponding name changes - into a public corporation open to insured persons nationwide. The company has been operating under the name "BKK24" since 2002. The additional contribution has been 1.1% since 2016.

history

The BKK has its origins in the companies Heye Glas , Gebr. Stoevesandt AG, Obo-Werke, Svedala Group, Nienburger Glas and, since 2003, Nürnberger Versicherung .

BKK24 emerged from the voluntary association of the Nürnberger BKK (2003), BKK Nienburger Glas (2002), BKK Heye (1999) and BKK Svedala (1999). Most recently, it merged with BKK advita on October 1, 2017 .

Services

Under certain conditions, BKK24-insured persons can make use of so-called "extra services" beyond the scope of services prescribed by law, including professional tooth cleaning, osteopathy, homeopathy or prevention courses. The health initiative "Live Better Longer" is unique in Germany.
