BK Prostějov is a Czech basketball club from Prostějov .
history
The association was founded in 1940. In recent years the club has developed into a top player in Czech basketball. It was not until 2004 that they were promoted to the highest national league, the NBL, as a second division champion, and they finished second in the first season, but failed early in the play-offs. In the same year Prostějov was able to fight his way to the final of the national cup, which they lost. In 2006 the club repeated the same results.
In 2007 the good performance of the regular season was confirmed for the first time in the play-offs. The path led to the final of the Czech championship, where they had no chance against ČEZ Basketball Nymburk and lost the series 3-0.
This was followed by three more final games for the title from 2010 to 2012, all of them again against the outstanding team of the league from Nymburk . All final series were lost, 1: 4, 2: 4 and 0: 4.
In Europe, the club made it to the quarter-finals in the FIBA EuroCup Challenge 2007 and among the best 16 in the EuroChallenge 2011.
