Benas Veikalas (born September 24, 1983 in Joniškis ) is a Lithuanian basketball player. The 1.92 meter tall shooting guard played for Telekom Baskets Bonn from 2011 to 2015 . After a season in Italy with Felice Scandone Avellino , he returned to the basketball league for the 2016/17 season and is now playing for the BG Göttingen .

Career

Veikalas spent his college years at Metro State College in Denver. After graduating, he moved back to his homeland and played for Kedainiai Nevezis in the first division of Lithuania for two years . In 2009 he received a contract in the Czech Republic and played for BK Prostějov until 2011 . With his team he was able to advance to the finals of the national championship there in 2011. There Prostejov had to admit defeat to CEZ Nymburk .

For the 2011/2012 season Veikalas signed with Telekom Baskets Bonn for two years in Germany . For the 2013/2014 season Veikalas extended for two more years in Germany with Telekom Baskets Bonn. Veikalas left Telekom Baskets in the summer of 2015, although the club had offered him a new contract until 2017.

Veikalas then decided to move to Italy and signed a contract with Felice Scandone Avellino until 2016 .

For the 2016/2017 season, Veikalas signed with the BG Göttingen for one year in Germany .
