BSC Munich (winter sports club)

The Bavarian Skeleton Club Munich is a winter sports club from Munich . The only sport that is played in the club is skeleton .

The association was founded in 1969 by Max Probst. Two years later he was entered in the association register. In addition to Probst, the founding members also included Senator Hans Riedmaier , the successful pilot Heinrich Platzer and the former national coach Johann Luxenburger . The association currently has around 50 members, around half of whom are active athletes. This makes the club one of the largest skeleton clubs in the world. Since 1969 the association has organized annual national and international races. BSC Munich is one of the institutions that has made bobsleigh skeleton sport in Germany more popular.

Well-known former athletes who were active for BSC Munich are Anton Buchberger , Frank Fijakowski , Heinz Gessler , Franz Kleber , Peter Meyer and Frank Kleber , Michaela Glässer is one of the well-known current athletes .
