history
1920 - Foundation as SV Victoria Seelow
Since there are few traditions from this time, the explanations begin with some conclusions. Football only existed in the larger towns such as Seelow, Letschin, Gusow, Neuhardenberg and Neutrebbin (from the Oberbarnim district).
The oldest document shows that Victoria Seelow existed before 1920. On January 30, 1921, the following teams were assigned to the newly formed Oderbruch district class: Union Freienwalde, Prussia Königsberg, Marko Helvetia Buckow, Sportverein Müncheberg, SV Viktoria Dürren - Selchow, Sportverein 1920 Oderberg, Sportfreunde Eberswalde, Sportvereinigung Wriezen and last but not least: SV Seelow .
The district championship 1929/30 wins Prussia Frankfurt / O. in the last point game against Viktoria Seelow with a 2-1 win. At this time, Seelow also had a second team. In conclusion, it can be stated that MT Seelow (or Victoria) was the 1st club in the old district of Lebus, which took part in football from 1920 onwards with its then 2 men and a youth and student team.
In the almost 25 years described, it is not entirely clear how often the club was named and how. There are various mentions of SV Victoria Seelow, SV Viktoria Seelow, MT Seelow, MTV Seelow, SV Seelow and probably others.
In 1945 the association was dissolved because of the Second World War.
1955 - Best team in Brandenburg
In the first years after the war, football was also played in Seelow. Not much is known from this period. Several Seelow clubs played in the district and even state operations. It is clear that in 1952 the association BSG Einheit Seelow was founded, which played in the 1st district class. At that time, Traktor Seelow seemed to be playing in the district league (the highest league in Brandenburg).
1953 was the big year: through the merger of several clubs and the concentration of good players, the championship title in Brandenburg was won in 1952/53. The brothers Franz and Arthur Bialas played in this team. At the end of the promotion round to the GDR league, the team was missing two goals for promotion. Up to 2500 spectators came to the games on the square in Robert Kochstrasse. After the promotion was not achieved, the Bialas brothers left the club. Through further departures, the team reached only a 10th place in the district league Frankfurt / Oder in 1953/54.
Even then, volunteer work was already very widespread in Seelow. After a meeting of the district, the new technical committee consists of the following people, among others: Chairman Kühnemann (Seelow tractor), game committee: Mellinghoff (Seelow unit) / Turandt (Buckow) / Guderjahn (Gorgast), press: Drescher (Seelow unit), Coaching commission: Steinborn (Seelow unit)
In 1955, the unit and tractor merge to form “Traktor Seelow”. This team played at the district level until 1960. On December 20, 1960, the communities “Aufbau”, “Einheit”, and “Traktor” merged to form what was then the only community in Seelow: the “TSG Seelow”. A long-cherished wish of many athletes in the district town came true.
1960s – 1990
If you look back today at the time before the fall of the Wall, TSG Seelow, ASG Seelow, ASG Marxwalde, Thomas Müntzer Worin, Traktor Letschin, SG Lebus, Empor Neutrebbin, etc. join the larger category. All the clubs mentioned were football strongholds at certain times and, in addition to the men's teams, also had good youth teams.
In 1969/70 TSG Seelow won the district championship title. The team also managed that in 1974/75. In 1976/77 the army sports team (short: ASG) forward Seelow was even district champion and won the district cup. TSG probably had at least 2 men's teams in play during the entire period.
Foundation of today's SV Victoria Seelow eV
On September 30, 1990 the SV Victoria Seelow was founded by 27 sports fans, most of whom were members of TSG Seelow or ASG Vorwärts Seelow. In the dining room of the former KfL Seelow it was initially decided to have a men's soccer team play in the 1st district class. A year later there were already 3 men's teams.
This was followed by a gradual build-up of junior teams in all age groups. In the winter of 1991/92 the first men's team was forced to move up to the then still existing district league. Here the starting place of the now disbanding army sports community 'Vorwärts Seelow' was taken over. At the end of the season one reached a respectable 6th place.
After the Märkisch-Oderland football circle was founded in March 1992, a structural reform in the performance classes followed.
In 1997, SV Victoria Seelow took over the administration and management of the municipal sports facilities Oderbruchstadion (28,000 m²) and sports field Robert-Koch-Platz (8,860 m²). In the youth sector, 8 teams are active at peak times, so that the club with a total of around 11 teams takes part in the game operations of the state and the district.
In the years that followed, they set up a women's sports group, a volleyball department, a group for recreational athletes, a cycling group and, last but not least, in 2007, the establishment of the table tennis department.
today
In the 2009/10 season, Victoria Seelow has the largest contingent of teams in its history. In football there are currently 3 men's, one senior, one women's and 9 junior teams registered in the game. In addition, 5 male teams and a junior team always play for the toughest places in the MOL table tennis group. In addition to the successful volleyball team in MOL, there is a steadily growing cycling group and a women's sports group.
In terms of sport, they achieved promotion to the Brandenburg League in 2010 . In 2015 , the greatest success in the club's recent history came with the promotion of the first team to the Oberliga Nordost as runner-up behind 1. FC Frankfurt . The club played there until the 2017/18 season . In this season, Victoria reached 15th place in the table and was relegated to the Brandenburg League at the end of the season. Thanks to a strong second half of the season in the 2018/19 season , the club managed to return to the Oberliga Nordost .
Venue
SV Victoria Seelow plays its home games in the Sparkassenarena , which has almost 5,000 spectators.
