The SV Mitterteich is a sports club from the Upper Palatinate town of Mitterteich .

history

The association was founded in 1919. The first games were played in 1920. After the flag was consecrated in 1922, the game was stopped in 1927/1928 due to differences of opinion among the active players.

The association experienced its rebirth on January 9, 1932, when around 50 people elected a new board of directors headed by Richard Schubert at the renewed founding meeting. On May 15, 1932, the new square was built on the Höftmann site on Marktredwitzer Strasse. Up to the start of the war in the summer of 1942, he had sporting successes such as promotion to the district league and victories against FC Bayern Hof and 1. FC Bayreuth .

In 1945 the game was resumed in the lowest division. The board of directors was made up of Paul Werner and Josef Artmann.

In 1948/1949 the association was taken over by Porzellan AG Mitterteich and was given the name BSG Zehendner Mitterteich. In the same year, he was promoted to what was then the 4th division, the Landesliga Süd. They played in the national league until 1959, but when the porcelain factory went downhill economically, the BSG Zehendner also ended. 1959 followed the descent. The club was about to be dissolved.

A milestone was recorded in 1968/1969 when the flag consecration and the 50th anniversary of the association were celebrated. In terms of sport, things were now looking up again, which is why the team was able to celebrate promotion to the Upper Franconian District League in the 1970/1971 season.

The tennis division was founded on June 27, 1974 . In the following years two hard courts and six clay courts were built. In addition, a clubhouse and a tennis hall with two hard courts and two bowling alleys were built.

In 1987/1988 the bowling division was founded .

The big hit came in 1989 when the coach Horst Will was signed up and promoted to the Landesliga Nord in the same year.

A new era was ushered in on July 22, 1997, when Roland Eckert and Rainer Heinrich agreed to lead the SVM into the new millennium. The SV Mitterteich was Bavarian runner-up in indoor football .

In 2000, they were promoted to the national league when they won 1-0 against SV Hallstadt with a last-minute goal by Markus Siller. In 2004 the now ailing clubhouse was renovated. In the same year, SV Mitterteich, ATS Mitterteich and TSV Konnersreuth merged in the youth sector, resulting in JFG FC Stiftland.

In the jubilee year 2009 they managed a fourth place in the Landesliga Nord. Since 2012/2013, the first team has been playing in the Central Regional League and the second team has remained unchanged in the Marktredwitz district league. In 2012 they played a friendly match against TSV 1860 Munich in front of 1860 spectators , which they lost 0:10. The Medienhauscup 2013 was won 2-1 in a heartbeat final against SpVgg Bayreuth .
