Structural development

The roots of BSG Motor West go back to TuB Leipzig West, which was founded in 1905. In 1920 the appendix "West" was deleted. After the end of the Second World War , the TuB association, like all sports clubs, was banned. As a loosely organized sports community (SG), sports traffic could continue under the name SG Leipzig-Kleinzschocher-West. After the company sports community system (BSG) was introduced , the SG was renamed BSG Vorwärts Südwest Leipzig in 1950. In the same year it was renamed BSG Stahl West Leipzig. Since the term steel obviously did not fit the carrier company , in April 1952 steel West became Motor West (Motor = Sportvereinigung Metallverarbeitung). When the BSG system collapsed after the political change in 1990 , members of the previous BSG Motor West founded the registered association SV Motor West, which on September 22, 1992 again took on the original name TuB Leipzig.

Soccer

After years of being in second class, TuB Leipzig was promoted to the football region of North West Saxony in 1920, the highest division in the Association of Central German Ball Game Clubs. TuB played there until 1933 and reached midfield positions. After the 1932/33 season they only finished 10th, but did not have to relegate. The Central German Association was dissolved and the clubs were classified in the Gaue, with the Gauliga as the highest class. TuB played a class from 1933 to 1945 in the district class or 1st class in Leipzig. The club was three times runner-up (1939, 1940, 1942) each behind Wacker Leipzig and just missed the promotion games and possible promotion to the Gauliga. TuB had an average of 1000 spectators at home games in the district class.

After the 2nd World War, the SG Leipzig-Kleinzschocher West took part with the strongest teams from Leipzig City a. Country 3 game series until 1948 at regional championships. In 1948/49 the point games took place in the Leipzig district. In a simple round, 26 teams determined the future participants of the Landesliga Sachsen and Bezirksliga. Kleinzschocher-West came in 6th place and missed promotion or relegation to the state league as well as the 5th SG Leipzig-Thekla. The 7th the SG Glück-Auf Markranstädt, however, reached the state league via promotion games. This discrepancy could never be resolved. When football was reorganized nationwide in the east zone for the 1949/50 season, SG Kleinzschocher-West came to the third-class district league of North West Saxony as BSG Vorwärts Südwest Leipzig. In the next two game series, the club played as BSG Stahl West in the district. After another structural change, BSG Motor West ended up in the Leipzig district class, the 5th league, for one year in 1952/53. After returning to the Leipzig district class, the BSG stayed in the district class from the 1953/54 season to 1984 with a few brief interruptions, which was 4th division in GDR football operations except for the period of the 2nd GDR League. After relegation in 1984, BSG Motor West Leipzig was initially unable to return to a higher league. The only nationally known football player was Andreas Wendt, who played in the youth teams of BSG Motor West from 1960 to 1967 and later became a top division player at Energie Cottbus.

In 1992 the association was promoted to the district class under the founding name of TuB Leipzig. It was the 6th division within the DFB. In 1999/2000 TuB was relegated to the Leipzig City League. The sporting decline could not be stopped and ended in the 1st district class with the last place in 2015/16. In June 2017 TuB Leipzig merged with the Leipzig clubs VfK Blau-Weiß and United FC to form FC Blau-Weiß Leipzig. The tradition of 105 years of football as TuB and Motor West can no longer be seen in these club names.
